“The mathematical sciences particularly exhibit order, symmetry and limitations; and these are the greatest forms of the beautiful.” — Aristotle

“Remember that self-doubt is as self-centered as self-inflation. Your obligation is to reach as deeply as you can and offer your unique and authentic gifts as bravely and beautifully as you’re able.” — Bill Plotkin
Purple blur (by Peter Nijenhuis)
He needed to drive to a particular place. A place that contained no other meanings. Somewhere there was no history of himself and preferably no history of any human being. Its true that he might not have known where he was headed but he knew he must take the less travelled byroads to get there. In the past he had followed the stars in the sky until he reached the lands end. There he would sit in his car, listening to AM radio signals of varying quality and content. They played to him the perfect scenario, and one presented in muted tone. In Italian the word scenario means “that which is pinned to the scenery”. He was pinned to the drivers seat. And with one window open, he would sit there all night long, making up stories for every wave that broke along the darkness of the shoreline in front of him.
”..Star lost
in the light of dawn,
trill of the breeze,
warmth, breath—
the night is done.
You are light and morning.”
— Cesare Pavese
Morning Greeting! (by jrix)
“…The secret open smile behand the hand,
and being such it is a crescent hidden.
Unrequited lips of love.
The smile of which is a sign and of my joy
of such existence…”

“I don’t want to be the one who says life is beautiful. I want to be the one who feels it.” — Marty Rubin
Celebration (by James Thornbrook)
lady, i will touch you with my mind
lady, i will touch you with my mind.
touch you and touch and touch
until you give
me suddenly a smile, shyly obscene
(lady i will
touch you with my mind.) Touch
you, that is all,
lightly and you utterly will become
with infinite care
the poem which i do not write.
― e.e. cummings
your smile is my laughter (by ajpscs)
“It is my mind, with its store of images, that gives the world color and sound; and that supremely real and rational certainty which I can “experience” is, in its most simple form, an exceedingly complicated structure of mental images. Thus there is, in a certain sense, nothing that is directly experienced except the mind itself.” — C.G. Jung
World Of Colors (by JoyHey)
“To achieve true interior freedom we must train ourselves to accept, peacefully and willingly, plenty of things that seem to contradict our freedom. This means consenting to our personal limitations, our weaknesses, our powerlessness, this or that situation that life imposes on us, and so on. We find it difficult to do this, because we feel a natural revulsion for situations we cannot control. But the fact is that the situations that really make us grow are precisely those we do not control.” — Jacques Philippe
Freedom From Reality (by OhJazzyboy!)
Even when words are spoken from the surface of their hearts, it means close to nothing for me. It compliments me in no form and affects me in the very slightest way. I can project an image of how pleased I am to hear how “beautiful” they may find me, but unless pressed pass his lips, the words dissolve before they are injected into my veins. If only he knew how much I value his words, how many conversations I have kept hidden and how often I narrate them…
“There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.” — Charles Darwin

“Trust what you love, continue to move forward in that direction, and you will end up where you truly hope to be.” — José N. Harris
